Reverse description The reverse features a stylised portrait of Sir Winston Churchill, composed entirely of fine engraved script text drawn from his famous 'Blood, Toil, Tears and Sweat' speech delivered to the House of Commons on 13 May 1940, creating a typographic word-portrait effect. To the left of the portrait, the principal quotation is rendered in a flowing cursive script: 'I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat'. Additional passages from the speech are worked into the body of the Churchill figure in minute lettering. The lower legend reads WORDS THAT WON THE WAR in capital letters. A decorative segmented border frames the field.
