To the left of the portrait, the principal quotation is rendered in a flowing cursive script: 'I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat'. Additional passages from the speech are worked into the body of the Churchill figure in minute lettering. The lower legend reads WORDS THAT WON THE WAR in capital letters. A decorative segmented border frames the field. |
