Issued by the Isle of Man as part of a broader Lewis Carroll commemorative program, this piece marks the 150th anniversary of Through the Looking-Glass, published in 1871. The Isle of Man has long used its monetary autonomy to produce themed collector issues that circulate alongside standard coinage — a practice that occasionally produces genuine surprises alongside the forgettable ones. This falls somewhere in between.
