| Reversbeschreibung | The reverse presents a dynamic depiction of a leather-clad motorcycle racer leaning aggressively into a corner astride a racing motorcycle, rendered in high relief against a background showing a typical Isle of Man TT course landscape with stone buildings and a prominent tower. The central composition is flanked on both sides by laurel branches curving along the coin's heptagonal border. The abbreviation 'TT' appears in the upper field above the scene, while the denomination numeral '50' is placed in the lower field below a horizontal rule, with the legend 'PENCE' completing the denomination along the lower arc. |

| Zusätzliche Informationen |
The Isle of Man Tourist Trophy, run on public roads closed for the event, was banned from the FIA World Championship calendar in 1976 after Niki Lauda and other Grand Prix drivers refused to race there — but that decision applied only to cars. The motorcycle TT had already separated from the World Championship structure in 1977 over safety disputes, and the Manx government responded by doubling down on the race as a centerpiece of island identity and tourism revenue. Commemorative 50p issues tied to the TT became a recurring feature of Manx coinage through the 1980s, with rotating reverse designs issued across multiple years.
