The White Horse of Hanover was one of the ten "supporters" in the Royal Arms used by British monarchs from George I through the Hanoverian line — a direct reference to the dynasty's German territorial origins in Lower Saxony. Jersey has issued a long-running series of crown dependency commemoratives tied to the Queen's Beasts program, of which this is one entry.
