Reverse description The reverse depicts a charming scene adapted from Raymond Briggs' celebrated 1978 illustrated story 'The Snowman', engraved by Robin Shaw. The central motif shows the Snowman, wearing his characteristic pork-pie hat, embracing the young boy protagonist in a warm hug, both figures rendered in a soft, rounded illustrative style faithful to Briggs' original artwork. The field surrounding the figures is scattered with raised circular dots representing falling snowflakes, lending depth and seasonal atmosphere to the composition. No legends or inscriptions appear on the reverse, allowing the imagery to fill the heptagonal flan entirely. The proof finish contrasts the frosted design elements against the mirror-polished background to striking effect.
