Obverse description The fifth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II faces right, depicting a crowned and draped bust wearing the George IV State Diadem, as sculpted by Jody Clark. The sovereign's portrait is rendered in high relief against a polished field, with the surrounding legend incorporating the monarch's titles and the denomination and date. The initials J.C. appear below the truncation, attributing the design to the engraver.
