Reverse description Central field depicts the March Hare, a character from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, shown in three-quarter frontal view wearing a tattered coat and a bow tie, engraved in detailed relief by Stephen Lee. The figure is surrounded by scattered playing card suit symbols — hearts and spades — distributed across the field. To the left, the denomination numeral 50 appears in the field. To the right of the central figure, the quoted inscription "There's nothing but hay left now." is rendered in a mixed serif and display typeface, referencing the Mad Hatter's Tea Party scene. The overall composition is contained within the seven-sided equilateral curve heptagon flan.
