Additional information

The Coronation Coach depicted here has made only a handful of public appearances since 1762 — most recently for Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee Pageant in 2012, where it was drawn through London empty due to the Queen's stated discomfort with its notoriously rough ride. Built for George III at a cost of £7,562, it has never left the United Kingdom. The Isle of Man Treasury has issued commemorative coinage tied to royal milestones with considerable regularity, and 2018 marked the 65th anniversary of the 1953 Coronation.
