| Reverse description | The reverse depicts an open wooden coffin shown in three-quarter perspective, its lid partially displaced and resting at an angle behind it, evoking the iconography of Bram Stoker's Dracula. Several bats in flight are scattered across the dark field, enhancing the gothic atmosphere of the composition. To the right of the coffin, a multi-line inscription in a stylized gothic typeface reads I saw the Count lying within the box, with the denomination numeral 50 and the word box appearing at the base. The design is inspired by a passage from Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula and forms part of Gibraltar's Dracula commemorative series. |
