| Descrizione del rovescio | Central device depicts the Black Bull of Clarence, one of the ten heraldic Queen's Beasts, shown as a passant black bull with gilded hooves and horns, rearing and supporting a quartered heraldic shield bearing the arms of Edward IV — lions passant guardant of England and fleurs-de-lis of France — rendered in high-relief against the mirrored proof field. The denomination 'FIFTY PENCE' is inscribed in a straight legend along the lower edge of the heptagonal flan. The overall composition exemplifies the detailed heraldic engraving characteristic of Royal Mint commemorative issues in this series. |

One of ten designs issued by Jersey in 2013 to commemorate the Queen's Beasts — the heraldic supporters historically flanking the Royal Arms at coronation ceremonies. The Black Bull of Clarence derives from the arms of the Duke of Clarence, a title with roots in Edward III's son Lionel, and later carried by the Yorkist line through George, Duke of Clarence, attainted and executed in 1478.
Jersey's Beast series preceded the Royal Mint's own bullion Queen's Beast program by three years.
