Obverse description The fifth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark, occupies the center of the heptagonal field, depicting a right-facing crowned and draped bust of the Queen wearing the George IV State Diadem and a drop earring. The surrounding legend reads ELIZABETH II·D·G·REG·F·D·50 PENCE·2018, distributed around the periphery of all seven sides, with the engraver's initials J.C. incused below the truncation. The proof finish presents a sharp contrast between the frosted effigy and the mirror-polished fields.
