Additional information

The Isle of Man Treasury has issued cricket-themed 50 pence pieces since 1997, exploiting the island's status as a Crown Dependency with its own currency authority — a quirk that allows Manx coinage to exist entirely outside UK monetary policy while remaining legal tender locally. The 2019 stumping issue belongs to a longer-running series commemorating cricket that has attracted collector interest well beyond the island's population of roughly 85,000.

The .925 silver proof iteration was struck in limited numbers for collector sale, never intended for circulation. KM#1645a distinguishes this composition variant from the base metal circulation strike catalogued separately.
