Obverse description Crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, after the fourth definitive portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, wearing the George IV State Diadem. The legend ELIZABETH II BAILIWICK OF GUERNSEY arcs around the upper periphery, with the date 2013 at lower right and the engraver's initials IRB visible below the truncation of the bust. The field is polished to a mirror finish, giving the coin a proof-like appearance.

Reverse description Central field features the full-color official badge of No. IX (Bomber) Squadron, Royal Air Force, depicting a bat with wings displayed on a white roundel within a blue ring inscribed SQUADRON above and ROYAL AIR FORCE below, flanked by the Roman numeral IX on each side, all encircled by a gold laurel wreath and surmounted by the St Edward's Crown rendered in color.
