Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing a diamond diadem and pearl drop earrings, after the portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley. The legend ELIZABETH·II·D·G REG·F·D· arcs around the upper periphery, with the date 2011 positioned at lower right. The engraver's initials IRB appear below the truncation of the neck. The field is mirror-polished, giving the coin a proof-like appearance consistent with its collector issue status.

Reverse description A stylized depiction of a clay pigeon shooter rendered in a bold graphic style, positioned at lower left, aiming a shotgun diagonally toward the upper right. Fragments of a shattered clay target are scattered dynamically across the right portion of the field, conveying motion and impact. The official London 2012 Olympic Games logo, incorporating the Olympic rings, is prominently placed at the upper centre of the field. The denomination 50 PENCE is inscribed in a straight legend along the lower exergual area of the coin.
