| 正面描述 | Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, wearing the George IV State Diadem, as modeled by Ian Rank-Broadley. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field, with fine detail in the hair and crown. The engraver's initials IRB appear below the truncation of the bust. The circumferential legend reads ELIZABETH II BAILIWICK OF GUERNSEY, with the date 2013 positioned to the lower right. |

Guernsey has issued commemorative fifty pence pieces under licensing arrangements that allow considerable creative latitude, and this 2013 rocket-themed piece falls squarely into that category. The pad-printing process — essentially a form of ink transfer used in industrial manufacturing — was adopted by several small island mints around this period as a way to achieve full-color surface decoration without the cost of enameling.
Gold-plated copper with pad-printed color occupies an awkward middle ground in collector markets: not base enough to ignore, not precious enough to grade.
