This RAF Lancaster issue appeared in 2020 as part of a broader wave of British Commonwealth commemoratives marking the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, a subject that generates reliable collector demand and accordingly gets issued in multiple metal variants — hence the KM#379b suffix indicating this gold-plated copper is one of several parallel strikes.
The Lancaster itself didn't enter operational service until 1942, two years after the Battle of Britain, so its inclusion here is thematic rather than strictly historical.
