The denomination 50 PENCE appears to the right of the book, while the dual dates ·1850·2000· arc across the upper field, flanked by decorative stops. The legend ·PUBLIC LIBRARIES· curves along the lower portion of the coin above the library steps. The design is executed in crisp proof relief against a deeply mirrored background. |
