The platinum wedding anniversary commemorates 70 years of marriage between Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, marked across a multi-piece Isle of Man series in 2017. The honeymoon depicted here took place in November 1947, with the couple traveling to Broadlands in Hampshire — the Mountbatten family estate — before continuing to Birkhall on the Balmoral estate in Scotland. Philip's uncle, Louis Mountbatten, had pushed for Broadlands as the venue, a connection that would resurface tragically when Louis was assassinated there by the IRA in 1979.
