Guernsey issued this piece to mark the 2017 platinum wedding anniversary of Elizabeth II and Prince Philip — 70 years of marriage, a milestone reached by no previous British monarch. The portrait used is the Beaux-Arts likeness commissioned for the 1951 Festival of Britain, predating her accession, making it technically a portrait of a princess rather than a queen.
