Aanvullende informatie

Guernsey has issued commemorative 50 pence pieces with some regularity, but this one marks a specific dynastic milestone: the 70th wedding anniversary of Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, whose 1947 Westminster Abbey ceremony was itself a carefully managed piece of post-war public relations — rationing was still in force, and the bride's dress was purchased using clothing coupons. The "10th Anniversary Portrait" designation refers to the Maklouf effigy adopted across Commonwealth territories in 1985, here repurposed as the obverse for this anniversary issue a full three decades after its introduction.
