Obverse description Right-facing crowned effigy of Queen Elizabeth II after the fourth definitive portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicted with a pearl-set diadem and draped neckline. The legend ELIZABETH II BAILIWICK OF JERSEY arcs around the upper periphery, with the date 2022 positioned at the lower right. The engraver's initials IRB appear truncated below the portrait. The design occupies a plain field within the heptagonal flan, with the legend rendered in raised Latin capitals following the curve of the coin's edge.

Additional information

Issued to mark Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee — seventy years on the throne, a record no British monarch had previously reached — this piece is one of a series pairing her reign with earlier monarchs as a kind of dynastic lineage exercise. The Victoria pairing is deliberate: at the time of Elizabeth's accession in 1952, Victoria's sixty-three-year reign was the benchmark against which all subsequent British monarchs were measured. Elizabeth surpassed it in September 2015.

Jersey's jubilee commemorative program in 2022 ran to numerous variants across metals and finishes, making census tracking of individual types genuinely difficult.
