The "Send Her Victorious" inscription draws from the first verse of "God Save the Queen," a lyric rarely activated in living memory — Elizabeth II's reign was so long that most subjects had never heard it sung with a reigning queen in mind before her accession in 1952. The Isle of Man, a Crown dependency with its own parliament and mint, has long issued aggressive commemorative programs independently of the Royal Mint, giving collectors pieces the UK itself never produces.
The gold plating on copper-nickel places this firmly in the souvenir tier rather than the bullion market.
