Within the bowl of the numeral '0', the Royal Cypher 'E II R' surmounted by the Tudor Crown is displayed prominently, below which the regnal dates '1952–2022' are inscribed. Additional information

The Platinum Jubilee marked 70 years of Elizabeth II's reign — the longest of any British monarch and the only time in British history the milestone had been reached. The Royal Mint issued an unusually broad range of commemorative denominations for the occasion, from circulating fifty pences to gold proofs, reflecting both the commercial appetite and the genuine historical weight of the anniversary. Elizabeth died in September 2022, just months after these pieces entered the market.
