Issued in the final months before Elizabeth II's death in September 2022, this coin was struck to mark seventy years on the throne — the longest reign in British history. The Isle of Man has a long-standing arrangement with the Crown that permits independent coinage, and the island's mint has historically moved faster than the Royal Mint in producing commemorative issues, often reaching collectors before equivalent British releases.
"God Save the Queen" became "God Save the King" within weeks of this coin's release date.
