The 2022 Platinum Jubilee marked Elizabeth II's 70th year on the throne — the longest reign in British history and the first platinum jubilee of any British monarch. Jersey, as a Crown Dependency owing allegiance directly to the sovereign rather than to the UK Parliament, has historically issued commemorative coinage with particular frequency around royal milestones.
