| Reverse description | The reverse, designed by Quentin Peacock, is divided horizontally into two registers. The upper register depicts a draped allegorical figure rendered in relief, set against a stylised architectural or banner motif, evoking themes of strength and resolve. The lower register carries the word ANIMUS in bold capital letters flanked by fleur-de-lis ornaments, beneath which the motto BY WISDOM AND COURAGE is inscribed across two lines. The denomination 50p appears at the base, accompanied by a further fleur-de-lis device, referencing the heraldic tradition of the Bailiwick of Jersey. |

The 2022 Platinum Jubilee marked Elizabeth II's 70th year on the throne — the longest reign in British history and the first platinum jubilee of any British monarch. Jersey, as a Crown Dependency owing allegiance directly to the sovereign rather than to the UK Parliament, has historically issued commemorative coinage with particular frequency around royal milestones. This piece is part of the "Animus" series, a Latin-titled set released by the States of Jersey specifically for the jubilee.
Elizabeth II died on 8 September 2022, three months after jubilee celebrations concluded, making this among the final commemorative issues struck in her honor during her lifetime.
