At left, a suffragette raises a document aloft with her right hand; beside her stands a uniformed World War I soldier; to the right, a working-class man in waistcoat and flat cap, a woman in Edwardian dress with a sash, and a gentleman in a suit and hat complete the procession. The bold inscription '1918 REPRESENTATION OF THE PEOPLE ACT' occupies the upper right field, and the engraver's initials ST appear at lower right. |
