| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central design featuring the iconic ten-storey Great Pagoda of the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, rendered in fine detail against an open field. The pagoda is framed and encircled by an ornate botanical vine motif, referencing the Gardens' horticultural heritage. The commemorative dates 1759 and 2009, marking the founding and the 250th anniversary of Kew Gardens respectively, flank the pagoda, while the inscription KEW appears below. The composition was designed by artist Christopher Le Brun and is executed with the sharp, frosted relief typical of proof coinage. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
The original 2009 circulating Kew Gardens 50p — struck to mark the 250th anniversary of the Royal Botanic Gardens — had a mintage of just 210,000, making it the scarcest date in the modern decimal 50p series and a persistent fixture in change-checking culture. This 2019 gold proof is a tenth-anniversary restrike of that design, produced in a limited run for collectors who missed the original or simply want it in a form that will never see a pocket.
The Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew received UNESCO World Heritage status in 2003, six years before the coin it inspired.
