HMS Victory was already 40 years old when she led the British line at Trafalgar in October 1805, and her survival was not guaranteed — she took 57 dead and over 100 wounded, with her mizzen topmast shot away early in the engagement. She never fired her guns in anger again after that day. Jersey's numismatic program has leaned heavily on Royal Navy heritage for its commemorative silver issues, and this piece fits squarely within that run.
