| Reverse description | A full-colour applied scene depicting two naval ratings manning a cannon on the gun deck of HMS Victory, evoking the Battle of Trafalgar (1805). The figure at left, wearing a tricorn hat, rams the cannon while the figure at right, wearing a red headscarf and striped trousers, hauls on the gun tackle; wooden barrels and buckets of water are shown on the planked deck. Above the central scene, the shield-shaped badge of HMS Victory is prominently displayed in the upper field. The denomination legend FIFTY PENCE arcs along the upper periphery, and the reverse border features a rope-twist decorative rim. |

| Additional information |
HMS Victory was already 40 years old when she led the British line at Trafalgar in October 1805, and her survival was not guaranteed — she took 57 dead and over 100 wounded, with her mizzen topmast shot away early in the engagement. She never fired her guns in anger again after that day. Jersey's numismatic program has leaned heavily on Royal Navy heritage for its commemorative silver issues, and this piece fits squarely within that run.
