HMS Victory never fired a shot after Trafalgar. Paid off in 1812, she spent decades as a harbour hulk before a 1922 collision with a New Zealand troopship — HMS Neptune — caused enough damage to finally prompt her permanent drydocking at Portsmouth, where she has remained ever since. Jersey's interest in the subject is not arbitrary: the island's proximity to the French coast made Napoleonic naval supremacy a matter of existential concern, and Trafalgar ended that threat decisively.
The .925 silver version of this issue was released alongside a base-metal circulation strike, a now-routine dual-release model for Crown Dependencies commemorating British naval history.
