| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a dramatic three-quarter bow-on view of HMS Victory, Nelson's celebrated First Rate ship-of-the-line, depicted under full sail with billowing courses, topsails, and topgallants filling the field. The intricate rigging, bowsprit, and gun deck portholes are rendered in fine engraved detail, with stylized waves at the base of the composition. To the lower right of the field, a circular cartouche bears the ship's badge inscribed HMS VICTORY. The denomination legend FIFTY PENCE arcs across the upper field, and a rope-twist border frames the entire reverse design. |
