Part of the Royal Mint's long-running Winnie-the-Pooh series, this issue draws on the A.A. Milne characters whose rights passed to Disney in 1961 — a licensing relationship that has governed all official British commemorative use of the Hundred Acre Wood characters since. The 2022 Pooh series expanded the roster beyond the earlier two-character releases, with Eeyore appearing as a dedicated issue for the first time in the series.
Struck to proof standard in 22-carat gold at 15.5g, this is the quarter-ounce format the Royal Mint has favoured for mid-tier gold proofs since the 1980s.
