This Diamond Jubilee piece was part of a wave of royal anniversary issues flooding the market in 2012, with multiple Channel Island jurisdictions — Jersey, Alderney, and Guernsey among them — each releasing their own competing series simultaneously.
Gold plating on copper-nickel blanks of this weight is notoriously prone to wear at the high points of the plating layer, regardless of handling — a known limitation of the process rather than a grading variable.
