| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a colourized depiction of Father Christmas rendered in a charming, cartoon-like style at the centre of the field. The figure is dressed in his traditional red suit with a white fur-trimmed collar, a black belt with a gold buckle, and black boots, and is accompanied by a small black cat and a white gift sack at his feet. Flanking the central motif are raised relief sprigs of holly with berries, lending a festive character to the composition. The legend 'FATHER CHRISTMAS ™' arcs across the upper field, while 'FIFTY PENCE' is inscribed along the lower field in bold raised lettering. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Gibraltar has issued an unbroken run of annual Christmas 50 pence pieces since 1988, a series that predates most modern collector-focused holiday coinage by a decade. The colourized finish on this piece is applied post-strike, a process that disqualifies these from many registry sets but has done nothing to dampen collector demand in the British commemorative market.
