| 正面描述 | The fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II facing right, sculpted by Ian Rank-Broadley, depicted wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara. The bust is draped and presents the monarch in a mature, dignified portrait characteristic of the IRB series. The peripheral legend encircles the effigy, with the date and the engraver's initials IRB appearing in the lower field. The inscription follows the standard regnal formula affirming her titles as Queen and Defender of the Faith. |

Issued as part of the Royal Mint's London 2012 Olympic programme, one of the most ambitious commemorative coin series in British history — 29 sports, each with its own 50p design, produced across multiple formats including cupro-nickel, silver, and gold piedfort. The piedfort format, struck at twice the standard thickness, has been a Royal Mint specialty since its modern revival in 1982.
Boxing's inclusion carried particular weight that year: Anthony Joshua won gold at the ExCeL Arena in August 2012, defeating Roberto Cammarelle in a bout that required countback scoring after a 18–18 draw.
