Reverse description Central device depicts a bespectacled mouse rendered in high relief, facing forward and seated upright within a cylindrical container, holding and reading an open newspaper. The design is based on Beatrix Potter's illustration from 'The Tailor of Gloucester', capturing fine naturalistic detail in the mouse's fur, spectacles, and paws. The curved legend THE TAILOR OF GLOUCESTER arcs around the upper field, following the heptagonal coin's contour. The engraver's initials 'en.' appear in the lower exergue.
