Part of the Royal Mint's Winnie the Pooh series, this issue appeared during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic — a detail that gave the nostalgic subject matter an unintended cultural resonance with collectors stuck at home. The 5th portrait of Elizabeth II, by Jody Clark, had been in use since 2015.
Piglet was the second character released in the sequence, following Winnie the Pooh himself in 2020.
