| 正面描述 | The fifth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II faces right, depicting a crowned and draped bust wearing the George IV State Diadem. The portrait, engraved by Jody Clark, is rendered in high relief against a flat field. The sovereign's title and the denomination are inscribed in Latin as a continuous legend around the periphery, with the date 2019 incorporated into the legend. The engraver's initials 'J.C' appear beneath the truncation of the bust. |

One of four coins in the Royal Mint's 2019 Paddington Bear series, this piece marks the fictional bear's 60th anniversary — Michael Bond published A Bear Called Paddington in 1958. The series was unusual in treating a licensed character across multiple circulating fifty pence issues simultaneously, a commercial approach the Royal Mint had been refining since the 2016 Beatrix Potter run proved the market for literary commemoratives far deeper than anticipated.
Circulation examples entered general use alongside the others in the series, making complete sets in change genuinely difficult to assemble.
