| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central high-relief depiction of a Hylaeosaurus, the ankylosaur-type dinosaur, shown in a three-quarter frontal stance with prominent dorsal spines and textured scaled skin, designed by paleoartist Robert Nicholls. Prehistoric foliage, including a conifer to the left and cycad-like plants to the right, flanks the dinosaur within the heptagonal field. A horizontal baseline runs beneath the animal, with fossil bone fragments rendered below it. The name HYLAEOSAURUS arcs along the upper margin of the field, while MANTELL 1833, referencing the palaeontologist Gideon Mantell who first described the species, appears along the lower margin. The engraver's initials RN are visible in the lower central field. |
