| Beschrijving voorzijde | The fifth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II faces right, depicted wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown. The portrait, modeled by engraver Jody Clark, presents the Queen in a mature and refined style with fine detail to the diadem and facial features. The denomination and date flank the truncation, while the full royal legend arcs around the periphery of the field. |

One of four Beatrix Potter 50p pieces released in 2017 to mark the 150th anniversary of Potter's birth, this coin entered circulation alongside the Peter Rabbit, Squirrel Nutkin, and Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle issues. The Royal Mint produced them in sufficient numbers that all four were genuinely findable in change — an unusual achievement for a commemorative series — though Benjamin Bunny proved the shortest print run of the circulating versions at just over 25 million pieces.
