| Obverse description | The fifth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, modelled and engraved by Jody Clark, occupies the centre of the obverse, depicting the Queen's right-facing crowned bust with a drop earring and necklace visible. The Queen wears the Royal Diamond Diadem, rendered in fine detail with jewelled settings and floral motifs. The surrounding legend reads ELIZABETH II · D · G · REG · F · D · 50 PENCE · 2022, with the denomination and date distributed around the heptagonal periphery. The engraver's initials J.C appear in small relief below the truncation of the bust. The field is smooth and unadorned, drawing full attention to the finely sculpted portrait. |
