Obverse description The fourth definitive effigy of Queen Elizabeth II faces right, depicted in a crowned and draped bust, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, as modelled by Ian Rank-Broadley. The sovereign's name and royal titles appear in a continuous legend around the periphery of the field, with the date and engraver's initials IRB also incorporated. The portrait is rendered in fine relief against a flat field, consistent with standard decimal coinage practice.
