| 背面描述 | The full Royal Arms displayed centrally, comprising a quartered shield bearing the arms of England (three passant guardant lions), Scotland (a rampant lion within a double tressure), and Ireland (a harp), surmounted by the Imperial State Crown. The shield is supported by a crowned lion rampant on the dexter and a chained unicorn rampant on the sinister. A scroll beneath the shield carries the motto 'DIEU ET MON DROIT', with the Garter motto 'HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE' encircling the shield. The denomination 'FIFTY PENCE' is inscribed along the upper arc and the numeral '50' appears prominently in the lower field. The engraver's initials 'CI' appear below the shield. The design was originally created by Christopher Ironside for the introduction of decimal coinage in 1969. |
