Additional information

The Falkland Islands resumed normal civil administration and coinage production following the 1982 Argentine invasion and subsequent British recapture, but the transition back to stable local currency issues was gradual. This small-type 50 pence belongs to the consolidation issues of the late 1990s, distinguished from the earlier large-type pieces by the reduced module — a practical response to the Royal Mint's standardization of the heptagonal 50p across British dependent territories. The KM#14.2 designation separates it specifically from the 14.1 large-type predecessor on that dimensional change alone.
