| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse features a highly detailed, engraved reproduction of the world's first adhesive postage stamp, the Penny Black of 1840, depicted as a framed stamp design occupying the central field. Within the stamp frame, the word POSTAGE appears at the top, ONE PENNY at the bottom, with the letters E and F in the lower corners identifying the plate position, and a left-facing portrait of the young Queen Victoria at centre. Surrounding the stamp vignette, the legend PENNY BLACK is inscribed along the left edge and 180th ANNIVERSARY along the right edge, with FIFTY PENCE arcing along the bottom of the coin.
