The Royal Mint's Lunar New Year series targets the collector market almost exclusively — these gold miniatures circulate nowhere and are priced accordingly. The 2025 issue marks the Year of the Snake, the sixth animal in the twelve-year cycle. Britain has no particular historical tie to the Lunar calendar, but the series has run long enough to attract set builders committed to completing the full cycle.
At 8 mm, this is among the smallest coins the Royal Mint produces.
