Part of the Royal Mint's ongoing licensing arrangement with Disney, this issue continues a Winnie the Pooh themed 50p series that began attracting collector attention well beyond the usual commemorative audience. The "Loyalty" edition is among the later releases in the run, by which point secondary market premiums on earlier pieces in the set had already pushed collector demand for new entries considerably higher than face value from day one.
