The White Cliffs Observer was a Royal Observer Corps post on the Falkland Islands, one of several established during the 1982 conflict to provide early warning of Argentine air attack. The corps, originally a WWI-era British civil defence organisation, was formally stood down in 1995 — making any commemorative recognition of its Falklands role a nod to a chapter that closed quietly, well outside the headlines that followed the main ground campaign.
