| Popis rubu | A vivid full-colour pad-printed depiction of the golden death mask of Tutankhamun dominates the central field, faithfully reproducing the iconic funerary artifact discovered in 1922. The mask is rendered in rich polychrome — gold, blue, and red tones — with detailed striped nemes headdress, uraeus and vulture at the brow, and broad usekh collar visible at the base. Flanking the central image are incuse hieroglyphic cartouches and decorative elements, while a coloured bead-and-lotus border rings the inner field. The legend TUTANKHAMUN arcs across the upper border with commemorative dates 1922 and 2022 to either side, and the denomination FIFTY PENCE is inscribed along the lower margin. |

The 1922–23 excavation of Tutankhamun's tomb by Howard Carter generated a media frenzy that has never fully subsided — a fact the Isle of Man Treasury has exploited repeatedly through commemorative coinage. This piece marks the centenary of that discovery. The pad-printing process used for the colourisation is applied post-strike and sits outside the struck metal surface, making these particularly vulnerable to handling damage.
